A call for Proposals has been issued by the Environmental Foundation of Jamaica (EFJ) through the Special Climate Change Adaptation Fund (SCCAF).


The thematic areas are:

·         Soil Conservation/Protection of soils from Water Stress or Soil Erosion

·         Forestation/Reforestation

·         Climate Smart Agro-businesses/Tourism Businesses

·         Climate Resilient Cropping Systems

·         Water Management

·         Disaster Preparedness

·         Water Management

·         Renewable Energy Systems

·         Waste Management

·         Climate Smart Building – Sustainable building practices and facilities for extreme climate events and structural adjustments that increase climate change resilience etc.

·         Protection from Sea Level Rise


Eligibility criteria for applicants (CBOs, NGOs, other CSOs & selected public sector agencies):

1. The CBO/NGO/CSG must be legally registered in Jamaica as a non-profit entity, a cooperative or a benevolent society.


2. The public sector entities must be working at the community level implementing projects that seek to enhance…capacities…to cope better with …climate-induced hazards and vulnerability.


3. Special consideration will be given to women’s groups and vulnerable groups.


Only a maximum equivalent to J$5,000,000 can be approved per grant. Proposals must be signed and submitted to the EFJ office address, or by email (grants@efj.org.jm) no later than 3:30 pm on November 11, 2016.


Please note that potential grantees/applicants intending to submit proposals for this 2016 Call are invited to attend one (1) of the three (3) Proposal Writing Workshops being planned by the EFJ (pre-registration to be done no later than October 14, 2016, by contacting the EFJ offices; workshops will only be confirmed if numbers are sufficient).
