PCJ bats for SDC cricket competition with $3-m sponsorship




Chairman of the Social Development Commission (SDC) Prudence Kidd-Deans (centre) and the SDC’s Executive Director, Dr Dwayne Vernon (right) are pleased to accept a symbolic sponsorship cheque valued at $3 million from Chairman of the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ) Russell Hadeed for the 2018 National Community Cricket Competition. The competition, which will run from April 29 to August 26 will include over 2,500 players on 244 teams from 358 communities across the island. The PCJ’s sponsorship was handed over during a courtesy visit at the Corporation’s head office in New Kingston on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.


The Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ) has signed on as a major sponsor of the Social Development Commission’s (SDC) 2018 National Community Cricket Competition with a contribution of $3 million.

The sporting extravaganza will involve over 2,500 players on 244 teams from 358 communities across the island. The action will start on April 29 and the competition is scheduled to run until the end of August.
