Description of Project:

Description of Venture: The group has been producing organically grown vegetable seedlings (sweet and scotch bonnet pepper) and sells them to the Brite River Co-operative Society for farming locally and NGO Farm up Jamaica internationally.   The Group recently entered into a new business. They are rearing rabbits in order to diversify the offerings and provide organic manure to the project.

Aim of the Venture:

The group aim is to produce a variety of bi-products of cocoa to satisfy the growing worldwide market.

Objectives:

The objective of the project is to improve market access and competitiveness of farmers in Lower Prosper and surrounding communities by providing high quality hybrid disease-free seedlings through the use of greenhouse technology in the production of sweet pepper, Tomato, lettuce, hot pepper and cucumber seedlings.
