SDC Calls for Local Economic Initiatives to Access its Services


The Social Development Commission (SDC) is encouraging small entrepreneurs within communities to access its services through the Local Economic Development Support Programme (LEDSP).

Speaking with JIS News, Acting Public Relations Manager at the SDC, Mandel McKulsky said Local Economic Initiatives (LEIs) can benefit from capacity building to develop business plans and models.

“We help with network building and creating partnerships with key stakeholders. We also aid in grant applications for the LEIs to source other funds outside of the SDC to provide capital and acquire the needed resources,” he said.

The Acting Public Relations Manager added that through support and guidance, local economic initiatives were contributing to the national economy.
